Job Description

  • This role reports directly to CFO of Air Asia Berhad and has overall financial responsibility for the business.

  • Formulating a financial strategy, long term plan and set high-level targets for the department to align with overall organization's target and business plans. Implement proper internal control to maintain positive revenue and financial growth. 

  • Prepare year-end financial statements for the business and to consolidate the group accounts

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts with budget holders, focusing on full-year forecast prediction versus budget. Identifying and managing risks and opportunities

  • Prepare and update annual budgets, working with budget holders

  • Continuous improvement of the new accounting system; helping to improve its effectiveness

  • Be a strong business partner with the budget holders, working with them to understand the business and help them understand Finance

  • Prepare financial reports and ensure organizational financial stability to improve the organization’s financial performance

  • Evaluation and analysis monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts

  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports 

  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported 

  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation 

  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations 

  • Develop and maintain good relationships with related business partners both internally and externally

  • Monitor SOPs development and amendment to ensure all SOPs align with Group standards and guidelines, and comply with regulatory requirement

  • Track operating progress and result against annual plan and KPIs to ensure targets are met; provide supports as needed 

  • Support innovation and continuous improvement including promote best-practice within Air Asia Berhad

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree with CPA (K), CIMA, ACCA, or ACA. 12 - 15 years' post-qualification experience in a senior role with a strong financial, accounting and managerial skills

  • Strong ability to implement and monitor internal controls

  • Must have knowledge of IFRS, exposure to Bursa and familiarity with Malaysia accounting standards

  • Excellent reporting background - statutory/management accounts/consolidated statements

  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Ability to develop and deliver presentations at all levels

  • Effective project management skills

  • Strategic finance and tax planning

  • Accounting and auditing background from a well-renowned is an advantage
