Grand Canyon University's College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is launching an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing this fall. We have an opening for a Clinical Nursing Skills Lab Coordinator/Lab Assistant at our site in Albuquerque NM with a start date of October 2024. This position is integral to delivery of partner university nursing skill lab experiences for nursing students. This position will report to the Director, Nursing Services (DNS).
Location: 6200 Jefferson St. NE Suite 300, Albuquerque, NM
Schedule: Monday thru Friday 7:30am-4:30pm

What you will do:
- Manage Skills Lab Activities within Clinical Nursing Skills Lab.
- Coordinate day-to-day activities in the nursing clinical skills lab including set-up and take-down of lab activities under the direction of the nursing the DNS, Director of Clinical Nursing Skills Lab, or nursing lab faculty.
- Works in collaboration with the Lab Director/DNS to maintain inventory of supplies and equipment as needed for skills lab.
- Provide technical support for all systems and equipment utilized in the nursing lab.
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs of equipment; initiates and coordinates repair/replacement of broken equipment and any regular maintenance requirements by vendor.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new lab materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain Clinical Nursing Skills Lab. Ensure that lab is clean, safe, and organized, promote safe lab environment.
- Maintain monthly equipment and supply inventories.
- Oversees the collection and disposal of waste materials according to regulations.
- Provides a positive example to students and faculty by supporting the University’s doctrinal statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of GCU
What you need:
- Associate or Technical degree in a medical/technical profession is required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated professional/ technical experience in medical lab setting preferred
- Must have at least one year experience in medical/technical field.
- Must pass pre-employment background investigation.
