Job Summary

Perform servicing and repair of ZOLL products and accessories at the applicable Factory Service Depot. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures on returned customer product complaints using established procedures. Perform maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products. Enter product investigation and service details into company database for analysis of product failure trends and service issues. May communicate with field-based technicians, development engineers and other company resources for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair. These tasks will require strong troubleshooting and communication skills and the dexterity to assemble and repair compact medical devices.

Essential Functions

  • Work under the guidelines of controlled procedures and work instructions to ensure accurate device disassembly, repair, reassembly and testing.
  • Compile and document complaint investigation, repair and test results in electronic device history record and ensure compliance with QSR/ISO requirements.
  • Troubleshoot ZOLL products to the functional module or board level failure level to determine potential root cause of the failure, while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
  • Discuss technical problems encountered while testing or troubleshooting with senior peers and management.
  • Prepare service quotations for customers.
  • Receive, unpackage, and decontaminate returned devices from the field.
  • Clean, package and prepare devices for shipment back to the customer following service.
  • Perform device testing, recertification, mechanical and software upgrades as required.


Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Technical degree or certification required
  • 3+ years of experience required, ideally working with medical devices or electromechanical devices.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Computer literate, familiar Microsoft Office Suite and other applications.
  • Must be able to read and understand diagnostic data in English.
  • Must be able to read and understand SOPs, work instructions and technical schematics.
  • Must be able to setup and use test equipment including, patient simulators, multimeters, electrical safety analyzers and other input/output electronic test equipment.
  • Good ability to write service investigation reports in English.
  • Will be handling medical devices used on patients; may contain blood and other bodily fluids. This position will require Hepatitis B vaccination.
