ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are looking for a Director, Software Engineering to lead the design and evolution of a multi-tenant wealth management platform. In this role, you will define platform architecture and technical strategy for systems serving correspondent firms and their end investors. You will focus on scalability, security, and regulatory compliance while working closely with engineering, product, compliance, and customer integration teams to support continued growth.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a senior engineering leader who combines architectural rigor with strong execution. You approach system design proactively by identifying edge cases, regulatory constraints, and failure modes early, while still moving ideas into production. You balance exploration with delivery and design systems that are resilient, configurable, and understandable by teams beyond yourself. You believe strong platforms reduce operational risk by design through clear contracts, guardrails, automation, and documentation.
Duties/Responsibilities
Design and oversee architecture for a multi-tenant platform supporting correspondent firms and millions of end investors
Define the technical strategy for white-label and partner-branded investing experiences
Architect secure authorization models with strong tenant isolation
Lead architecture for high-volume onboarding, funding, and trading workflows in a cloud-native GCP environment
Ensure platform design meets SEC, FINRA, and SOC 2 compliance requirements
Build auditability, data retention, and compliance guardrails directly into system design
Provide technical leadership across Go-based backend services and GraphQL BFF layers
Communicate architectural decisions clearly to engineering teams and executive stakeholders
Mentor engineers on platform security, multi-tenancy, and compliance-aware development
Drive Architecture Decision Records to maintain shared context and prevent architectural drift
Partner with product leadership to align technical solutions with business and investor needs
Support customer integration teams on SSO, API onboarding, and white-label deployments
Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into scalable technical solutions
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in a technical field
10+ years of engineering experience
5+ years in senior technical or architectural leadership roles
Experience building and operating multi-tenant B2B2C platforms at scale
Experience designing GraphQL APIs and BFF architectures
Experience in fintech or wealth management with
Strong experience with GCP, including BigQuery, Bigtable, Cloud Run, and GKE, as well as Kubernetes
Experience operating PostgreSQL in high-scale environments
Required Skills/Abilities
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of software engineers.
Expertise in architecting massively scalable mobile/end user applications.
Excellent technical expertise in software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and project management principles.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages and software development frameworks.
Substantial problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and resources effectively.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Expertise in Go backend services and gRPC
Working knowledge of SEC and FINRA regulations
Deep understanding of authentication and identity federation, including Auth0, Okta, and SAML SSO
Other Preferred Qualifications
Experience with correspondent or clearing firm platforms
Familiarity with trading systems, account management, and funding workflows
Frontend architecture experience with React or Next.js
Experience with SpiceDB or similar authorization frameworks
Background building white-label SaaS platforms
Work Environment
This job operates in a hybrid, office environment 3 days per week.
