Job Summary:
As the Head of Debt Capital Markets Research, your primary responsibility will be to track and synthesize debt capital markets activities within commercial real estate across the globe. You will be responsible for aggregating expert insights around salient lending trends and generating thought leadership that can be shared within Chatham as well as with clients and across the industry.
The Head of Debt Capital Markets Research must understand and effectively communicate all aspects of commercial real estate debt capital markets. This includes expert-level knowledge of how various debt capital providers underwrite risk and make decisions across global markets. Additionally, this individual must grasp drivers of pricing and the types of risk providers are willing to lend against. Debt capital providers could include: bank balance sheet, syndication, securitization, regional vs. money center banks, insurance companies, agency lenders, and debt funds. The Head of Research must also possess a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of loan structures.
You will work closely with our clients to understand the markets they are invested in, their investment and financing strategies and other factors that may impact the solutions Chatham delivers to its clients. In addition to understanding our clients you will also be responsible for building strong relationships with our clients, providing ongoing support, and ensuring that we are delivering the highest level of service possible. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate, with expertise in areas such as debt capital markets, debt management, valuations, or consulting services. They will also have exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to conduct detailed financial analysis and modeling. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are also essential, as this position will require communication with clients, team members and other stakeholders.
