Application Developer Supervisor

Massillon, Ohio (Hybrid schedule: Onsite T,W,Th)

 

Summary:

Shearer’s Foods Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to add to the IT application development staff, helping the Information Technology department in the creation and support of in-house developed software solutions.  The Application Developer Supervisor works with the business to identify, scope, and develop new opportunities as well as support existing systems.  Other responsibilities include writing reports, data mining to help with business issues, complying and setting Shearer’s Foods coding standards, development and support for new and existing technologies, and any other duties as requested.  This position oversees the user interface development team to ensure tasks are assigned and completed timely to set standards, defines the path of future development technologies, and helps mentor and build a strong team of developers.  This role is roughly 50% management of other team members and projects, and 50% hands on programming.

What you Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or like technical field
  • Analytical & Problem-solving skills
  • Strong development and research abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical customers and team members
  • Candidate must be highly motivated and demonstrate ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Oversee, lead, and develop a small team of developers to produce modern and stable user interface based systems 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new skills, adapt to changing environments and show attention to detail

Technical Qualifications:

  • Proficient in a variety of computer programming languages and technologies, including ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, Blazor Server/WASM, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Transact-SQL, and PL/SQL
  • Understanding and experience with Microsoft SQL Server concepts including:
    • SQL Language, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, Microsoft SQL Database Administration
  • Understanding of Data Exchange concepts including REST API development and consumption, XML, and Web Services
