Inclusion Support Officer

Beckingham

Full time, up to 1-year fixed term contract.

Salary up to £48,928 per annum

About the Role:

We are working with our client to bring to the UK a number of families under the Afghan Resettlement and Assistance Policy. They will initially be housed in various accommodation bases, known as the transit estate, before being moved to a settled home in the community. Mears will be securing community homes over the next 6 months and some families will move to these homes, some will move to other dispersed accommodation throughout the UK.

We are seeking Inclusion Support Officers to join our alternative education team. This is an exciting position that works exclusively to support individuals and families who have been displaced and are being accommodated by a specialist central government contract to provide educational readiness for their life in the UK. As an Inclusion Support Officer, you will be part of a wider Mears team providing alternative education support for children and adults, this post will report into the Inclusion Support Manager. We aim to provide education support to children and adults within a ratio of 1;6 using suitably qualified tutors who you will have day to day management of.

Role Criteria:

  • Knowledge and experience of adult and children’s education
  • Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding and Prevent
  • Experience of effective personalised teaching and learning for learners experiencing diverse barriers
  • Experience of developing and creating learning materials and resources
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
