About This Role:
As the Finance Manager within the Regional Reporting Team, you will play an important role in supporting and driving financial processes across Europe and the Biogen Intercontinental Region (BIR). Your responsibilities will include partnering with stakeholders through market and regional close processes, consolidation activities, and planning cycles. This position offers broad exposure to diverse areas of finance and provides opportunity to work with key stakeholders.
You will contribute to month-end close activities, as well as planning and forecasting processes. By collaborating with managers and functional leads, you will help manage investments and drive other critical financial processes.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an agile and supportive environment, work across multiple areas of finance, and develop your skills while helping the organization make informed strategic decisions.
This is a hybrid role, available on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis and is due to start ASAP.
What You’ll Do:
Support all aspects of financial planning in close coordination with cost center owners and budget owners.
Prepare planning and forecasting materials for functional leads and regional stakeholders.
Facilitate a Zero Base Budget approach during planning.
Coordinate the preparation of templates and slide decks for monthly reporting and annual business plans.
Provide comprehensive monthly reporting to function heads and cost center owners.
Conduct variance analysis and provide transactional details for budget tracking.
Plan and govern headcount management in line with regional business planning guidance.
Maintain control and continuously improve financial reporting processes.
Assist budget owners in the PO process and perform budget checks.
Provide input for month-end close activities, including variance explanations and accrual information.
Respect internal rules and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Required Skills:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.
Experience in a professional finance and accounting role
Proficiency in Office 365 and reporting tools.
Solid experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, or comparable systems).
Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Independent and self-starter with excellent written and presentation skills.
Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent English communication skills; an additional language is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Highly desirable to have experience in the pharma/biotech industry.
Entrepreneurial thinking and spirit.
Ability to work in a matrix organization.
