As a Process Engineer II, you'll provide technical expertise and support to ensure safety, optimize manufacturing operations, and drive continuous improvement within our facility. This role is critical to maintaining safe work practices while reducing conversion costs, directly enhancing competitiveness and profitability for the AFNA business.
What You’ll Do
Champion Safety: Make safety your top priority in all activities, from daily responsibilities to process improvements.
Drive Operational Excellence: Actively support World Class Operations Management (WCOM) initiatives by participating in teams and pillar activities.
Solve Complex Problems: Investigate root causes of process inefficiencies, quality issues, and waste, then develop and implement effective solutions using proven problem-solving techniques.
Train and Develop: Provide hands-on training for machine operators on new equipment installations, modifications, and updated operating procedures.
Standardize Processes: Maintain systems that ensure consistent equipment operating conditions and product quality.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with BPI resources, supervisors, production crews, and maintenance to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
Support Projects: Participate in project evaluations and scheduling to minimize downtime and waste during development efforts.
Optimize Equipment: Partner with project engineering to facilitate equipment modifications that improve productivity and reduce waste.
Document and Improve: Develop and maintain procedures that safely enhance machine performance while meeting customer quality expectations.
Mentor Future Talent: Supervise engineering co-op students as needed, including training and performance evaluations.

Solid understanding of flexible packaging manufacturing processes, including blown film, metallization, flexographic printing, extrusion coating, adhesive laminating, and slitting/winding.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial).
3+ years of relevant experience.
Engagement with trade journals, technical seminars, and professional development in areas such as communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, SPC, advanced software applications, world-class manufacturing principles, and quality systems.
