NVIDIA is looking for a creative Switch Software Architect to lead the shaping of future data centers and networks. In this role, you will play a key role defining the future of our end-to-end switching software stack, open source NOS, Linux kernel networking, high efficiency streaming analytics, network programmability and SDN. Switch Software Architects represent Nvidia in open source projects, conferences and standard bodies.

You will help the team address new business opportunities in exciting areas – solving unique challenges requiring novel software and hardware designs.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Identify and evaluate new technologies, innovations, and partner relationships for alignment with our technology roadmap and business value.

  • Lead design of new networking applications using data plane programming to solve complex networking problems in innovative ways.

  • Outbound work includes customer engagements, publishing white papers, blogs, RFCs, and conference lectures/BOFs.

  • Define strategic vision for Nvidia networking together with adjacent software and hardware architects

What We Need To See:

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

  • 12+ years of relevant experience.

  • Expert level knowledge in Ethernet/IP technologies.

  • Experience defining network data-path or switch ASIC SDK/driver.

  • Proven record to stay ahead of technology envelope, understand state-of-the-art research, dabble into new technologies to develop practical applications and generate innovative ideas.

  • Clear verbal and written communication with consistent record to build consensus within a large organization.

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd:

  • Demonstrated ability to prototype ideas using networking offloads.

  • Experience in system software design or Linux kernel networking subsystem.

  • Experienced with cloud or data-center technologies, or edge computing products.
