Pay Rate: $21/hour
 

The primary role of a Golf Course Technician is to maintain optimal golf course conditions by completing tasks related to golf course maintenance as directed by the supervisor. Tasks include but are not exclusive to: operating all equipment used in daily golf course maintenance, cutting cups, raking bunkers, watering, planting, moving tee locations, and applying fertilizer and chemicals. Operation of golf carts and utility vehicles may be necessary. Golf Course Technicians report to the Superintendent but may also report to the Foreman.

Responsibilities

  • Perform varied tasks involved in maintaining pristine golf course conditions
  • Operate powered equipment in mowing golf course greens, tees, and fairways
  • Apply water and fertilizer as instructed
  • Grade soil, lay sod, and plant vegetation
  • Change cups on the greens and move tee markers as directed
  • Maintain ball washers, water hazards, and bunkers
  • Remove debris and maintain course cleanliness
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Rake and maintain sand bunkers
  • Fill divots with divot mix
  • Blow cart paths
  • Assist with seeding new greens, tees, and fairways
  • Weed maintenance around trees, bunkers, and cart path curbs
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner and abide by all safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all company and departmental guidelines
  • Report any hazards, injuries, and safety concerns to supervisor immediately
  • Perform other tasks as requested by supervisor
  • Demonstrate warmth and sincerity in all interactions
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor in both verbal and nonverbal communication
  • Take ownership of all guest requests and be proactive in ensuring resolution as needed
  • Maintain impeccable grooming and personal hygiene at all times and wear uniform as directed

  • Successfully complete all training and certifications needed for the position
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all guests
  • Report all faulty equipment, supply needs, maintenance needs, safety hazards, injuries, and other concerns immediately to your supervisor

  • Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner

  • Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company.
  • Due to the intimate nature of the resort with limited number of guests on property, must assist teams laterally across all departments to lead a seamless guest flow throughout the different resort spaces.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of golf course maintenance or closely related equivalent experience preferred
  • Reasonable oral, written and communication skills
  • Operate trucks and light motorized equipment
  • Ability to make reasonable decisions using acquired job-related knowledge and common sense
  • Ability to see details (trash, ropes and stakes that are out of place), proper set-up of tees and proper cup locations
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license and maintain a clean DMV record
