The Balance Sheet Mgmt Sr. Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the liquidity, balance sheet and interest rate risk management of consolidated Citigroup, CBNA and non-bank entities.
  • May focus on securities investment strategies or, separately, the measurement of business returns and capital allocation.
  • Gains exposure to and learn about Citi’s balance sheet, liquidity management, interest rate risk and investment activities as well as business products.
  • Contributes to enhancing processes to manage these exposures in a well governed environment and includes the following:
  • Advises on procedures to enhance reporting and decision making in a given subject area and integrating with other team members to accomplish these plans
  • Improves process efficiencies in assistance of businesses and broader Finance to effectuate increased transparency and more efficient financial resource allocation
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other related fields
  • 5-8 years relevant experience
  • Advanced quantitative and presentation skills, with attention to detail and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Access, and ability to work with large volumes of data leveraging spreadsheets and models
  • Excersices effective project management,relationship building and communication skills
  • Take ownership and execute on deliverables
  • Team player with an ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, high energy environment

Education:

  • Bachelors degree

The role involves working on RWA (Risk Weighted Asset) and SLE (Supplementary Leverage Exposure) forecasting for Yearly CCAR/Quarterly Internal Plan, working closely with RWA Actuals, Technology, Risk and Financial Planning teams within Citi. It requires working on strategic initiatives and performing review and challenge for forecasted RWA and SLE, to ensure that the calculation, model usage, assumptions, methodology and reporting is accurate. The role would be primarily focused on Derivatives exposures, and requires good understanding of product and Basel rule (Basel III and Basel Endgame)

Team

The Capital Planning team is responsible for managing capital of Bank, which involves primarily management of RWA (Risk Weighted Asset) and SLE (Supplementary Leverage Exposure) processes, actual as well as forecasting (CCAR). It is accountable for developing a sustainable operating model, leading the Global Process for RWA and SLE in order to comply with the continuously changing regulatory requirements across Forecasted and Actual RWA and SLE. For most of the regulatory capital disclosures, this team remains the face to the US and some of the regional regulators, and is required to attest the RWA and SLE numbers for various regulatory fillings 

Responsibilities 

  • Review forecasted RWA/SLE for Citigroup and CBNA, working closely with risk, finance, technology, modelling and internal Capital Planning teams
  • Primary focus on RWA/SLE Forecasting of Derivatives Transaction transactions of Citigroup and CBNA
  • Review and challenge work streams on RWA/SLE forecasting processes, methodology, assumptions and reporting
  • Monitor actual RWA headwinds and reductions in order to assess it’s impact on RWA/SLE forecasting and weekly outlook
  • Manage strategic initiatives and projects related to improvement of forecasting processes and output by working closely with respective teams
  • Prepare outcome of review and challenge and present to work stream leads
  • Summarize the progress of all strategic initiatives and keep senior management updated
  • Participate in quarterly RWA forecasting process as needed
  • Participate in resolution of Audit CAP, MRA and other regulatory responses as a subject matter expert
  • Develop relationship with key stakeholders and help the team improve SME skill sets by providing or managing training program
  • Partner with Technology, Finance and Risk to support organization’s overall goal to manage Capital efficiently. Provide guidance to teams on remediation of RWA to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the RWA. Represent  the team in working group/steering committees when needed

  • Relevant experience (preferably Basel/RWA/Counterparty Credit Risk), within the financial services industry
  • Very good understanding of banking products, especially vanilla as well as complex Derivative and Secured Financial transaction products
