Your New Role…

The Sr. Coordinator, Program & Content Strategy will manage key aspects of CNN’s nonlinear content rollout on platforms including (but not limited to) FAST, VOD, TVE, and Direct-To-Consumer.  This role will help drive programming strategy across CNN’s two FAST channels, CNN Headlines and CNN Originals.  The position entails hands-on program planning and execution across each channel.  In addition, this role manages nonlinear inventory, affiliate VOD fulfillment, content merchandising, and analysis of viewer performance data.  The position also actively monitors the competitive environment across nonlinear platforms.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Supports content fulfillment, scheduling, and maintenance of CNN FAST channels, CNN Headlines and CNN Originals.  Utilizes media management and scheduling systems (Amagi Cloudport and Planner) to schedule weekly programming.  Collaborates with internal CNN teams in sourcing video, metadata, and artwork for FAST long form content.  Regularly monitors channel playout and addresses programming and technical issues.  Supports varying partner/industry needs across the FAST space.  Represents CNN amongst the wider WBD FAST internal teams.  (35%)

  • Oversees inventory creation, scheduling, and fulfillment of CNN long form content designated for affiliate and Owned and Operated VOD platforms.  Creates and maintains show pages across CNN sites and apps.  Explores merchandising opportunities for premiere and library content. Collaborates with Digital Media Operations, digital product managers, and partner managers to ensure a robust and well-ordered presence across platforms. (25%)

  • Responsible for tracking CNN performance data across multiple platforms.  Utilizes several data tracking systems (Domo, Tableau) to determine content performance.  Uses analysis to conclude the best path forward in propelling content strategy. (15%)

  • Helps prepare calendars and grids to communicate program plans to various stakeholders. Maintains inventory database to track long form content availability.  Collaborates with Business & Legal Affairs to ensure content rights are tracked and within compliance. (15%)

  • Responsible for competitive intelligence across the nonlinear news set. Monitors and maintains programming competitive information in the news FAST space. (10%)

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Bachelor’s degree in media, communications and/or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of work experience, preferably in television, media or a related field

  • Understanding of media supply chain fulfillment (video, metadata, images, delivery)

  • Knowledge of FAST channels across the news and media space

  • Understanding of television, news, and media industries

  • Must be well-organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prioritize and be detail oriented

  • Passion for current events and news

  • Ability to meet deadlines and have excellent follow-up skills

  • Advanced experience in Microsoft products especially Excel
