Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems located in Palmdale, CA has an immediate opening for a Staff Engineer Systems Test (Test Conductor with an IT background) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in our program center with the System Test Engineering team.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring System-Under-Test readiness to execute the tests safely and efficiently.  

  • Serves as an integral part of the test team and provides subject matter expertise during test events. Troubleshoots and resolves issues during test events as required.  

  • Assesses anomalies, documents troubleshooting efforts, and develops resolutions in accordance with documented procedures in conjunction with Test and Quality Engineering.

  • Performs software installations as required.

  • Maintain configuration management of software and hardware.

  • Authoring and editing procedure documents as required.

  • Ability to work 4/10 shift with pre-planned off-nominal shift work.

Basic Qualifications:

Staff Engineer System Test Specialist (T05) requires:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain active DoD Top Secret Clearance.

  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required to onboard.  

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field and minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree in STEM field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.

  • Computer Network hardware/software configuration experience.

  • Familiarity with Linux command line.

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain IAT Level 2 Security Certification (Security +, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP,GSEC, SSCP) or IAT DoD level 3 (CASP, CCNP-Security, CISA, CISSP,GCED, GCIH) or able to obtain and maintain within 6 months of start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS clearance.

  • Ability to read/understand engineering blueprints/drawings (electrical interconnect, equipment rack).

  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include pre-planned extended shifts, holidays, and weekends.

  • Experience with Line-of-sight and Beyond Line-of-Sight Radio Frequency systems.

  • Familiarity with Crew Resource Management.

  • Ability to read and understand network configurations (Routing protocols, network address translations, multicast).

  • Virtualization Experience (VMware VSphere).

  • Knowledge of Flight Test Operations.

  • Experience with systems test processes.

  • Able to work in both external and internal environmental conditions.

Salary Range: $149,900.00 - $224,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
