The Role:
Are you an experienced Enterprise Architect looking to work for an amazing Fintech company? SoFi is looking for an Enterprise Architect to build out our first Enterprise Architecture practice. This is a greenfield opportunity to build an EA practice from the ground up as you see fit. The opportunity will be both challenging and rewarding.
What You’ll Do:
The ideal candidate is both business-savvy and technically proficient. We are seeking a generalist who leverages holistic thinking to operationalize methodologies that align technology, business process, and financials with our corporate strategy.
With enterprise-scope focus, this role will examine all business processes and all technology in a holistic manner. As such, the Enterprise Architect will be expected to instantiate the EA practice itself which includes building and curating the enterprise continuum, establishing standards, and coaching others in areas such as governance and roadmap development.
As the very first Enterprise Architect, you’ll need to be hands-on, especially in the early stages of the program buildout. While enterprise-scope architecture and strategy are your primary objective, some high-level solution architecture with big-ticket projects may be in order as well.
Requirements:
- 10 + years of broad experience across the architecture domains of: business, applications, data, and technology.
Business Architecture:
- Working knowledge of common corporate business processes (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Hire to Retire, etc)
- Business alignment methodologies such as cascading goals or objectives-and-key-results (OKR) systems
- Proficiency in standard financial metrics such as ROI, EVA, NPV, and others.
Applications and Data Architecture:
- Experience with and data integration patterns such as enterprise service buses and microservices
- Familiarity with REST APIs and their data formats (XML and JSON)
- Experience with master data management solutions
- Experience in maturing the governance around SaaS application management
- Enterprise-level application portfolio management and roadmapping
- Real-world experience building scalable, globally-shared solutions
- Data warehousing and big data (EDW/data lakes ETL, real-time streaming data)
- Ability to craft, iterate, and syndicate roadmaps for key business platforms
Technology Architecture:
- Exposure to common data center building blocks of compute/network/storage
- Awareness of infrastructure as a service (IaaS) capabilities; ideally with Amazon Web Services
- Understanding of CICD-driven infrastructure as code (IAC) and immutable server patterns
General Enterprise Architecture:
- Deep understanding of loosely-coupled, service-oriented-architecture (SOA) design patterns
- Ability to demonstrate diplomacy and persuasion when orchestrating changes to enterprise architecture
- Demonstrable knowledge of common frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, ISO, ITIL, Agile/Scrum/SaFE, et al.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a well-rounded discipline such as information systems, or alternatively, a combination of degrees that span technical and business disciplines
- Current TOGAF certification is a plus
