The Opportunity

Our diabetes division in Alameda California has an opportunity for a Senior Manager, Global Market Research. This position will deliver actionable insights that guide strategy and influence decision making across new market opportunities, product development, and marketing. They are responsible for ensuring that Global Strategic Marketing teams have access to and utilize insights to inform business decision making.  This individual should have a strong ability to communicate and will be accountable for synthesizing and translating insights into strategic recommendations and actions at senior leadership levels.

What You’ll Work On

  • Enable a customer-centric organization by understanding the needs and motivations of our customers, their purchase journey, loyalty drivers and roadblocks and distilling these in a way which drives effective marketing, partnerships and innovation.
  • Build empathy for our customer and represent the voice of our customer to inform product and marketing decisions and investments. Ensures global strategic marketing teams have access, understand, and are activating on the voice of our customer.
  • Communicate insights to global strategic marketing teams and leadership to provide actionable recommendations and help lead implementation
  • Oversee all market research, including quantitative (attitudes and usage, segmentation studies, trackers and concept tests, etc.) and qualitative (exploratory, focus groups, IDIs, etc.).
  • Translate business problems into research objectives and integrate cross-functional questions/needs into all research to ensure insights are relevant and actionable across teams; proactively share and present research findings across the business
  • Proactively uncover innovative research methods to bring to life our customer in new ways and enable quicker, customer-informed decision making.
  • Works with cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute learning needs that are aligned to organizational goals
  • Be seen as a trusted leader with the ability to influence, develop and maintain a highly effective team.
  • Find creative and compelling ways to generate, present, and evangelize results and recommendations throughout the company, to help cultivate a highly informed, more effective, and more empathetic organization

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience working in primary market research
  • 5+ years of experience successfully leading teams
  • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative market research methods
  • Expertise in advertising and brand strategy learning and implementation
  • Expertise in upstream innovation and new product development
  • Whole brained thinker who combines data with deep empathy and strong storytelling
  • Comfort with ambiguity and experience in organizational design
  • Strong people leadership skills
  • Experience working with interdependent cross-functional and global teams
  • Flexible schedule for global calls, and willing / able to travel domestically and internationally
  • Strategic thinker who approaches challenges with a “possibilities and learning” mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • SPSS preferred although not required
  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries

The base pay for this position is

$144,100.00 – $288,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
