Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage potential risks that could hinder the reputation, safety, security, and financial prosperity of the organization.
- Conduct regular enterprise risk assessments, audits, and analyze risk reports.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and processes.
- Coordinate with different departments, BOD members, and third parties (insurance broker, insurance carriers, internal auditors, independent auditors) to gather information on potential risks.
- Provide training to staff about risk management and promote a culture of risk awareness within the organization.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders about risk management activities and emerging risks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to risk management.
- Communicate with external auditors and regulators about enterprise risks.
- Organizational risk management includes planning, directing, and coordinating risk and insurance programs to control and reduce operational and contractual risks.
- Manages and participates with leadership in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for risk management.
- Tracks relevant metrics and prepares reports as needed.
- Works on special projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not currently supervise direct reports.
Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Risk Management or Compliance certification, or ability and willingness to obtain one of many available risk management and compliance certifications including RIMS-CRMP, FRM, PRM, CERA, CRM, CRMA, etc.
- Knowledge of strategic risk management approaches and methodologies including enterprise risk assessments and quantification of risks
- Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery approaches and methodologies and related management mitigation plans for identified risks.
- Experience in conducting insurance negotiations, selection of brokers and carriers, and claims administration.
- Supervisor or project team experience

- Strong leadership with aptitude to motivate others to achieve desired results. Deal effectively with a wide variety of people daily.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Access)
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Works under general supervision.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
