Franklin Templeton’s Global Compliance team has more than 100 compliance

professionals located in in various countries worldwide. The Global Compliance team is split into teams that focus on the compliance frameworks for regulated entities and these teams are supported by other specialist compliance teams that are typically established as centres of excellence for example Code of Ethics, Investment Compliance, Marketing Compliance, Financial Crime, Compliance Monitoring.

This role sits within the EMEA Compliance function.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Compliance Senior Manager – Alternatives Compliance?

As a compliance lead for alternatives compliance, you will be responsible for

ensuring that our alternative products and services comply with the relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies across different jurisdictions.

You will also provide guidance and support to the Alternatives Global Product

Strategy team, the SIMs, and distribution on compliance matters related to

alternative structures, and product development. Your main duties will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and controls for alternative products and services

  • Providing compliance advice and oversight on alternative product launches, registrations, disclosures, and marketing materials Conducting compliance monitoring and testing to identify and mitigate compliance risks and issues

  • Liaising with regulators, auditors, and external parties on compliance inquiries, inspections, and reporting

  • Keeping abreast of regulatory developments and industry best practices in alternatives compliance and providing training and updates to relevant stakeholders

  • Working alongside colleagues in Legal and other support functions

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Experience of implementing regulatory standards to meet AIFM

  • A good understanding of regulatory requirements impacting alternative funds including private equity, real estate, private credit

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably at a large financial institution or regulator.

  • Ability to understand and assess the regulatory risks associated with alternative investment funds, investment services, and clients.

  • Strong communication skills both virtual and in office.

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a global program.

  • Fluent in English required, with French, German or other European languages a plus.
