The Sr. Account Manager oversees a designated sales territory, focusing on the development and expansion of new and existing accounts, markets, and the sales of new products. Sales Specialists have a strong understanding of Alkegen's products, applications, services, and policies and work collaboratively with customers and other business groups to ensure a positive buyer experience.
 

Purpose of Position:

The Sales Engineer is responsible for the following:

Achieving annual sales program for the Korea BAM market;

Gain market share.

Identify, penetrate and develop new accounts, markets, and sales channels for EV Fire Protection  products in accordance with the Company's Business Plan;

Maintain a high level of technical competence relative to the Company's products, services and applications. 

Apply technical and application knowledge to regional sales objectives.

Provide a high level of customer service to all accounts within the assigned territory;

Provide management with market information and competitive updates;

Operate within the assigned budget

Manage distribution channels.

Maintain and grow sales at existing accounts.

Assess customer requirements and competitor activity;

Sell into all major Korean automotive markets: EV and PHEV Battery Thermal Runaway, Emission Control system

Nature and Scope: External Contacts, Reports To, and Internal Contacts:

The position reports to the General Sales Manager, Alkegen BAM Korea and BAM Sales Team.

The position interacts with Alkegen Global Sales Director, Global Market Growth Leader, Business Planning Manager, Marketing Director, Application Engineers, Customer Service, distributors and end-users customers.

Significant travel within Korea normally required for this position.

Must have the ability to work independently, be self motivated, and manage the defined sales and development objectives. 

Major Job Functions and Tasks:

Sell Company's products (new and existing). Assure Service all customers, developing new accounts, maintain and grow existing accounts. Promote sales of specific accounts. Achieve assigned sales program for EV Fire Protection and Emission Control products in the assigned territory; operate within assigned expense budget and achieve new product sales program. Responsible for increasing market share for automotive product lines, and meeting a goal of 20% new products sales annually. Train distributors and end users on the recommended safe handling practices for ceramic fiber products. Sales forecasting by month and quarter. Gathering competitive information regarding pricing, market share, and product offerings. Territory planning (call pattern, new product/customer prospecting). Management of distribution channels within Korea Advise management of significant market information; Report new product ideas. Report competitive information in assigned territory

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed: Education, Experience, Skills

BA/BS degree in Engineering; Advanced business degree also desired;

Strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in managing multiple projects and sound budget management are a plus for consideration;

Fluent in Korea/English;

Five to ten years previous sales experience in automotive markets or an engineering background is required;

Previous experience with distributor sales management is preferred;

An understanding of pricing and ordering structures; product, technical and application data; competitive products and applications; blueprint reading; and knowledge automotive process knowledge is required.

Quantitative Dimensions:  (Measurable Items)

Sr. Sales Engineer is responsible for over $3 M annual sales program; Sales Engineer is responsible for $2 – 3 M annual sales program; Jr. Sales Engineer is responsible for less than $2M annual sales program;

Training Requirements: 

Marketing strategy, distributor management, emergency training, EV Fire protection product line training, Marketing management, and communication trainings.
