Marketing and Corporate Affairs (MCA) is responsible for delivering an integrated and consistent approach to the Group’s marketing, brand, external and internal affairs, communications and sustainability.
This role works within the Retail Banking Services’ (RBS) Corporate Affairs team to help manage the reputation of RBS and CBA.

As a Senior Manager, RBS Corporate Affairs, you will play a pivotal role in developing and driving strategies and plans to support corporate affairs and RBS strategic priorities, as well as supporting CBA’s marketing campaigns and initiatives.
You will create and drive compelling narratives, PR campaigns using highly creative and engaging assets across traditional and emerging channels and strategies that support CBA and RBS. You will also provide leadership and direction in responding to crises that could affect CBA’s reputation. You are a self-starter who creates personal and professional stretch goals and works to meet them.
Do work that matters
Ongoing identification of corporate affairs issues and proactive communication opportunities, and coordination of response and actions across RBS, and in collaboration with marketing and other corporate affairs teams.
Provide counsel on the appropriate use of media, channels, content and strategies to ensure CBA’s reputation is protected and enhanced.
Managing the implementation of effective and innovative communications strategies and plans to build and maintain a leadership position for RBS and CBA in the media.
Developing frameworks for engagement of multiple stakeholders (government, industry and regulatory) by individuals and business units including strategic, scheduling, briefing and information sharing.
Developing and executing an effective internal communications strategy that aligns with CBA’s vision and purpose ‘to protect and enhance the financial wellbeing of people, business and communities’.
Identify potential and actual risks and operating issues that may impact RBS and work with corporate affairs colleagues to manage the Business’s strategic communications response accordingly.

Risk Mindset –All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
You will need at least 8 years’ experience in Corporate Affairs or an equivalent role.
You will be an excellent communicator, results-orientated, technically expert and able to run both a strategic program of work and tactical activities. With proven written communication skills, you will be a media relations specialist, with a keen interest and knowledge of public affairs.
You think strategically, take initiatives and solid experience planning, delivering and measuring internal and external communication plans. You thrive in fast-paced environments.
Experience in financial services will be highly regarded, as will a track record of working in large, complex organisations. You will need knowledge and experience in dealing with trade and consumer media, and have solid issues management skills.
You will have experience and capability to engage and provide counsel to senior business leaders.
