Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon
Salary: Up to £65k FTE (Depending on Experience)
Location: Cromwell Veterinary, Cambridgeshire
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 4 X 9 hour days per week plus 1 in 4 weekends. Part-time hours also considered.
Great Opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to a wonderful group of practice in Cambridgeshire!
Your role at Cromwell Vets will be a varied one. You will see a good mixture of consultations and surgeries. We have fantastic hospital site in Huntingdon, with it's own dedicated night team, and 5 smaller clinics in the local area, St Neots, Sawtry, Cambourne, Ramsey and St Ives. The role can be split between some or all sites, offering great variety; each site is equipped for routine surgery and consults, with Sawtry being home to our purpose-built rehabilitation centre, staffed by our physiotherapy team. We offer hydrotherapy, laser therapy and a range of treatments.
We are looking for a small animal Vet who is happy to work both as part of a multi-vet team and sole charge. We are open to discussions about consulting only positions, and various working patterns across the sites.
You will be joining a very welcoming team who all support each other. All of our Associates are committed to the care of our clients and their pets and we would love to hear from applicants who share the same values. Many of our clinical team hold certificates in medicine, surgery, cardiology, dermatology and diagnostic imaging, with advanced practitioners in medicine and surgery. We are always keen to support professional development and certificates where possible.
Benefits
About us
Cromwell Vets is a busy 24-hour first opinion small animal hospital with 5 branch surgeries and a state of the art rehabilitation centre. Our practice has been caring for pets for over 100 years and we pride ourselves on providing gold standard veterinary medicine. Our tier 3 hospital has excellent facilities and equipment and hosts our dedicated out of hours service.
We have a fantastic, experienced and friendly clinical team with many certificate holders and we support and encourage CPD (including certificate study). We have all the equipment available to enable full work up of cases in house – digital radiography, ultrasound (including separate cardiac probe and doppler), video-endoscopy (gastroscope, bronchoscope and small rigid endoscopes), multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring, tonometry, etc. We have just opened a new wing at our hospital with a state-of-the-art operating theatre, treatment rooms and a calm and spacious cat ward. We are also very proud of The Cromwell ARC – a purpose-built physiotherapy and hydrotherapy unit with aquatic treadmill and K-Laser, run by our two qualified physiotherapists.
We are very fortunate that many of our staff have been part of ‘The Cromwell Family’ for many years and as a team, we are very caring and supportive of one another. Wellbeing is top of the agenda and important to us all – we champion a better work life balance and are avid supporters of the WellVet Initiative.
We enjoy being part of our communities and attending local events to run fun dog shows raising money each year for our chosen charity and encouraging team members to take part. Cromwell Vets also holds regular social events, including summer events, impromptu lunchtime barbeques, and the famous annual Christmas party.
