Salary Range: $135,000 - $150,000

We're looking for a Head of New Business to join our team in New York as part of our Sales function.

Your Role: As a dynamic and experienced Head of New Business sales you will be leading and inspiring an NYC-based team. You will be pivotal to delivering annual revenue targets and expanding our network of sponsors and exhibitors for our annual event in Las Vegas, where the world’s fintech leaders convene to grow their businesses.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead, mentor, and coach the new business team, fostering an environment of high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Implement strategies and tactics designed to enable the team to achieve and exceed annual revenue targets by attracting and closing deals with new sponsors and exhibitors.

  • Provide valuable input to the sales strategy and ensure its effective implementation across the new business team.

  • Utilize Salesforce data to maintain accurate, current reports on sales activity across the team.

  • Model effective sales activities and techniques for the new business team by engaging directly with prospective customers.

  • Build strong relationships and ensure accountability with cross-functional leaders, encouraging collaboration with key stakeholders in marketing, customer experience, operations, finance, executive, and other teams.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on EU, AS, and US-based international sales teams to create and expand global business opportunities.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments by using industry data sources to maintain leadership-level knowledge.

Your Experience

  • Proven track record in sales leadership roles, preferably within the conference and event sponsorship sector.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on revenue targets and close high-value deals.

  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills, with experience managing and developing sales teams.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage Salesforce data for strategic decision-making.

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.

  • Availability to be in our NYC office at least 3 days/week

  • Travel as needed to meet with new prospects; this may include regular domestic and limited international travel and attendance at key industry events.

Each candidate's actual salary will be a function of the candidate’s qualifications, the locally competitive market rate and will be consistent with Ascential's internal approach to base salary compensation
