Job Summary

As a Support Service Technician will have the unique opportunity to contribute to patient care by providing essential services across Nutrition Services and Environmental Services. This dynamic role allows you to engage in a wide range of tasks. You'll play a pivotal part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff, while also supporting the nutritional needs that are vital for patient recovery and well-being. Essential Functions

  • Please note this role will work in 3 Continuing Care Facilities; 1001 Leffingwell Ave. Grand Rapids; 1226 Cedar St NE Grand Rapids; 4118 Kalamazoo Ave. SE Grand Rapids.
  • Ensure a pristine and sanitary environment by performing comprehensive cleaning and disinfecting tasks within various departments, adhering to the highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Remove medical waste, trash, and linen promptly, contributing to the health and safety of the hospital premises.
  • Maintain the hospital's appearance by performing interim and restorative maintenance of hard floors, carpets, and upholstery, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all.
  • Contribute to patient health and recovery by assisting in the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals as part of the Nutrition Services team.
  • Perform a variety of routine tasks in the Nutrition Services department, following established practices and procedures to support patient nutritional needs.
  • Promote a culture of safety and care by adhering to hospital protocols and standards in Environmental Services.
  • Support a seamless hospital operation by efficiently managing supplies and equipment necessary for patient care and facility upkeep.
  • Engage in meaningful patient interaction by providing supportive services that enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated healthcare team to facilitate top-notch care and service across multiple departments.

Qualifications

Preferred

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • High School minor- work permit
  • Customer Service experience
