Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the position is responsible for the oversight of a single site/account or fleet including support personnel and drivers. Optimizes the company's assets by monitoring revenue and costs through effective P&L analysis and builds and maintains customer satisfaction through problem-solving, communication, and relationship building. The position is usually located on-site at the customer's facility. Incumbents must be able to work any shift to satisfy the demand for flexibility in scheduling to ensure operational success. This includes but is not limited to, day shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the observation of accounts and serves as the first point of contact with their assigned customers/ramp in order to provide exceptional service and trouble-free account safety, efficiency, and profitable operation
  • Plan, organize, and execute large-scale employee appreciation events
  • Forecast freight volumes/customer volume needs, power/equipment needs, and adjust capacity needs as a result to ensure fleet/carrier and equipment coverage is seamless
  • Responsible for the management of inventory, warehouse, and/or the overall upkeep and security of the Ramp facility and property
  • Communicate with customers, internal departments, and team to identify and resolve problems or issues with ramp, driver, customer, account, etc. throughout the day and, where required, when on call
  • Responsible for the creation and communication of key performance indicators, management of employee payroll, and/or creation of invoices and ensuring customer billing is accurate and timely
  • Coordinates with Maintenance personnel to balance equipment maintenance schedules, customer requirements, and expenses ensuring all equipment meets Federal and state requirements
  • Conducts analysis and forecast to determine trends in costs to maximize profitability and is responsible for the analysis and explanation of the budget versus the actual state for each customer through mid-year business reviews, annual account assessments, etc.
  • Monitors driver safety and takes proactive steps to create a positive safety culture at their accounts by ensuring drivers have completed required periodic company safety training and meet all Federal, state, and company requirements
  • Responsible for the selection, hiring, training & development of all office personnel and drivers and the preparation of personnel strategy per location freight mix and coverage gaps

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3-4 years of Transportation/Logistics experience and/or 2-3 years of supervisory experience, and/or military equivalent; must possess a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record as per JBH standards; ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed. Must be willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related fields with 1-2 years of relevant professional experience or 2-3 years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry and/or military equivalent with 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy

  • Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment

  • Participate in the process of recruitment of permanent and contract personnel, achieving optimal match between candidate and position
  • Understanding the resources required to achieve business objectives and the ability to plan, mobilize, and distribute resources to fulfill business objectives and plans

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
