We are a medical/surgical ICU and take care of a wide variety of patients. We are the ICU for many patients before they go to their regular floors, units, and other hospitals. We take care of a wide variety of diagnoses and work together as a team for the best outcomes. We use evidenced based mobility and decreased sedation protocol. By doing this, we work closely with our OT, PT, RT, RNs and CCTs to help walk all our patients, including those who are intubated. Our ratios are 1 RN to 2 patients, and we have 1 to 2 CCTs for the floor. We are a great unit for building a foundational knowledge of critical care patients.
