About the opportunity

eBay Motors is a multi-billion dollar, global portfolio comprising the Parts & Accessories, Business & Industrial, Vehicles, and WHI (a B2B Parts & Accessories marketplace in US) businesses. These categories are not only among the largest on eBay and core to eBay’s strategic future, but also are actively innovating in the market and at eBay.

We are looking to hire a Senior Category Manager, located in London, UK, for the Parts & Accessories business. The role will be at the forefront of evolving the buyer and seller journey, improving the customer experience, and driving long-term growth for the segment. By working closely with internal and external partners, you will be the central hub connecting multiple initiatives.

This role requires someone who takes a comprehensive view to problem solving, thinks strategically, and can envision how the future will craft up and how to best guide eBay to be prepared for these changes.

What you will accomplish:

  • Seller Performance – Build and maintain strong relationships with key sellers and partners, providing them with the tools and insights needed to optimize their performance and succeed on eBay.

  • Grow Selection – Identify and source relevant and market leading inventory to support execution of category strategy. Collaborate with Business Development to onboard new sellers, brands, and partners to build a diverse and competitive marketplace.

  • Improve Buyer and Seller Trust – Manage eBay's buyer and seller trust metrics through projects that help customers feel more comfortable buying and selling on eBay.

  • Improve the Customer Experience – Work with consumer insights, sellers, and buyers to identify customer difficulties and communicate their impact to cross functional teams for triage.

  • Business Reporting – Deep Dive into the business to understand the key levers/drivers and report on the business critical metrics including conversion rate, ASP, top buyer/seller growth, listings growth, lead time, CSAT and more on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

  • Site Merchandising – Define a 52-week calendar outlining key retail moments, and seasonal events where eBays should show up on the homepage and category pages  -  partnering with the merchandising team to develop events that generate relevancy, visibility, and GMV growth.

What you will bring:

  • Demonstrable experience in an online retail or marketplace environment (merchandising or startup experience valued)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred

  • Experience pulling data and gathering insights on online marketplaces

  • Experience coordinating cross functional teams such as Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, and analytics

  • Experience influencing & negotiating with external partners

  • Validated experience in project management

  • 5 or more years of presentation experience and the validated ability to articulate sophisticated concepts clearly and convincingly

  • Interest and/or experience in Motors a plus, but not required
