As a Regulatory Reporting Specialist, you work within UMB’s Bank Operations organization.  You will work with technical and operational teams internally to gather data from a variety of systems, perform research, and report to various regulatory institutions.  Once gathered, you will analyze the data to identify any records needing correction, follow up with the customer, or prepare the records for reporting to the proper institution.  You will work closely with business units and operational teams on customer setups and modifications.  This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by Bank Operations leadership. 

This role is hybrid (Mon through Thu on-site / Fri remote) at the UMB Technology & Operations Center located in downtown Kansas City, MO.

How you will spend your time:

  • Gather data, perform research, and report to various regulatory institutions.
  • Work with technical and operational teams to gather data from a variety of systems within UMB.
  • Analyze data to identify any records needing correction, follow up with customers, and prepare records for reporting to the proper institution.
  • Review accounts for required unclaimed property reporting, tax reporting, B-Notices and withholding.
  • Review and prepare reports for interest reporting on lawyer trust accounts.
  • Work closely with business units and operational teams on customer setups and modifications.
  • Maintain accurate system and process documentation.

We are excited to talk if you have:

  • 5 years of professional experience OR college degree.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of bank services and operations.
  • Strong organizational abilities to maintain a complex unclaimed property reporting schedule by state and multiple daily tasks with limited supervision.
  • Critical thinking skills to solve complex problems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (outlook, word, SharePoint) with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Outstanding soft skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all business areas across all levels of the organization.
  • High focus on precision and attention to detail, prioritizing quality and accuracy.

Bonus Points if you have:

  • Experience with macros in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Hogan CIS.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft.
  • Knowledge in States’ unclaimed property laws.
  • Experience with B-Notices and tax withholding.

Compensation Ranges:

US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York:

$54,220 - $79,020

US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin:

$49,510 - $72,340

US Employees in all other states not listed above:

$44,790 - $65,650
