Job Description Summary

The Lean Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for performing Quality and Lean Production activities directly related to cost-out initiatives on High Voltage equipment as part of the Grid Solutions Revival program. This includes for example performing the qualification of new parts/vendors, increasing manufacturability of sub-assemblies/equipment, implementing the changes in our supply chain to reduce cost, standardize and facilitate efficiency for lean optimization. This person will be a member of a cross functional team (including R&D, COE, Quality, Production and Lean) dedicated to execute the cost-out roadmap to meet savings and milestone targets and will report to the site HV Breaker Lean Leader and functionally to the Cost-Out Project Leader.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Implement cost-out actions for the High Voltage equipment designed and manufactured in our Charleroi, PA factory and center of excellence
  • Perform Quality and Lean activities collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure cost out project deliverables (milestones, new processes etc..) are met in a timely manner, contributing to savings targets with no compromise on product quality/compliance, supply chain continuity and efficiency and risk mitigated
  • Quality actions include supporting Sourcing to visit vendors and qualifying new suppliers/parts, identifying, and delivering value-adding opportunities to the supply chain.
  • Lean actions include optimizing the manufacturability of the changes resulting from cost-out actions, reducing labor hour needed for assembly, ensuring operational alignment with production plan and KPIs, to maximize cost-out impact while guarantying supply chain continuity.
  • Generate new cost-out ideas and help consolidate next cost-out action pipeline.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing and/or lean experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience interpreting mechanical drawings and basic wiring schematics

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,700.00 and $152,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
