Job Summary

Are you a disruptive innovator who is passionate about applying new technology to real world customer needs? In this role, you will analyze, innovate, design, develop and test proof of concepts for stakeholder evaluation. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast paced, hands-on team who can use their creativity to solve customer articulated and unarticulated needs.

What You’ll Do

1. Perform research on emerging markets and intellectual property and analyze what and how innovative projects could be utilized within assigned product segments. 

2. Provide technical leadership while mentoring less-experienced engineers.

3. Innovate and design profitable solutions for the agricultural and construction industry. Determine the articulated and unarticulated needs of global customers by conducting voice of customer.  

4.Create proof of concept to validate the idea for further evaluation by the stakeholders.

5. Demonstrate to team members, customers or dealers the product needs to better define the product.

6. Fosters dealer or stakeholder relationships to research unidentified needs and to perform field validation.

What We’re Looking For

- Four-year college degree in Agricultural, Computer, Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of twelve years' experience.

- Proficient in Solidworks or equivalent CAD tool.

- Proficient in C++, Python and Mathlab a plus.

- Proficient in Design of Experiment preferred.

- Proficient in gathering and evaluating data logs.

- Familiarity with robotics, perception sensors and control system theory.

- Understands product development activities to release successful products from a performance standpoint.

Travel

- Occasional travel is expected of this position.

We are looking for candidates with an educational background in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Data Science, along with hands-on experience in embedded software development, robotics perception, and computer vision. The ideal candidate should have experience in developing and training machine learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, including skills in hyperparameter tuning. Familiarity with machine learning operations (MLOps) practices and tools like MLflow is also required.

Experience within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Databricks, is necessary. Preferred qualifications include proficiency with image labeling, curation, and visualization tools such as V7 Darwin, Voxel Fifty-One Teams, and Foxglove. Additionally, experience managing high-volume image datasets within an end-to-end MLOps development pipeline is desirable.

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
