POSITION SUMMARY

Provide second-level technical support for Hitachi High-Tech (HHT) semiconductor manufacturing equipment products to customers as well as internal service engineering operations.

Provide failure model assessment, technical support, direction, and planning for semiconductor etch system equipment escalations.

Generate, update, and refine escalation action plans and root-cause models.

Provide on-site support for equipment escalations.

Maintain a high level of equipment knowledge via training, hands-on exposure, site visits, escalation support, documentation, and other available resources. Perform analysis of equipment escalation historical data to reveal commonalities in support of any possible corrective actions or equipment improvements. Act as a liaison between the HHT factory in Japan and U.S. subsidiary support operations for both escalations as well as general support and documentation. Provide excellent customer support via clear, comprehensive, and concise written and oral communication including escalation action plans, problem root-cause models, maintenance procedures, engineering bulletins, parts purchase specifications, and other technical documentation.

Generate and maintain support documentation including maintenance procedures, engineering change notices, technical bulletins, and product safety notices.

Provide engineering support for global-source parts, engineering changes for enhanced performance or cost reduction, and purchase specifications.

Provide technical assistance to the Supply Chain and QA groups for parts lookup, stocking levels, vendor qualification, parts inspection, parts repair, failure analysis, machine-down parts resourcing, import/export classifications, warranty and repair judgments, and purchasing.

25% domestic and international travel required to perform on-site technical support for customers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering or related.

  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or related.

  • Experience with:

  • Hitachi Semiconductor Etch System 9000 series

  • Hitachi 9000LogMoni software;

  • Semiconductor vacuum technology and leak detection methodologies

  • Radio frequency systems; and

  • End Point Detection and Optical Emission Spectroscopy systems for etching process
