Experienced Accounting Manager / Finance Manager to lead our local accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities in Poland. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in Polish GAAP, strong familiarity with financial services accounting and experience with US GAAP. This role ensures accurate statutory reporting, tax compliance and high-quality internal controls, while also supporting cross-border activities across several European countries.

The position interacts closely with external authorities, regulators, banks, and auditors and serves as a key partner to internal stakeholders across Finance, Credit, Sales, Operations, Compliance, Legal and Senior Leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Local Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Lead and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations for the Polish entity.
  • Ensure full compliance with Polish Accounting Standards and sector‑specific requirements for leasing, lending and financial services.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual closes; local statutory financial statements; US GAAP reporting packages
  • Maintain accurate general ledger structure, chart of accounts and accounting policies.
  • Coordinate with regional finance teams on shared services, intercompany transactions and leasing/lending arrangements.

Tax Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

  • Manage local tax filings, including CIT, VAT, WHT
  • Leasing-specific tax treatments
  • Transaction taxes, deferred taxes and transfer pricing documentation
  • Provide accounting and tax expertise to support operations in other European countries.

Internal Controls & Governance

  • Design, improve, and maintain strong internal control frameworks (SOX experience is a plus).
  • Lead internal control testing and remediation activities as needed.

Audit, Regulatory, and External Relationship Management

  • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors (statutory and group audits), tax authorities, regulatory bodies, and inspectors as well as banks and financial institutions
  • Oversee timely completion of audits and provide technical accounting support.

Treasury, Cash Management & Banking

  • Oversee daily cash flow monitoring and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with banking partners on financing arrangements, debt facilities and operational accounts.
  • Oversee the treasury processes related to portfolio rebalancing, match-funding and foreign exchange exposure

Business Partnering & Financial Analysis

  • Provide financial insights to support business decisions regarding new leasing or lending products; cost optimization

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Lead or support the implementation/development of new/existing finance systems, accounting tools, automation and digital workflows.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure accounting policies for leases and loans are accurately reflected in systems.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Technical Skills

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Professional qualification preferred: ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.
  • Min 5+ years in accounting/finance roles, ideally in financial services, leasing companies.
  • Strong knowledge of Polish Accounting Standards (US GAAP exposure is a plus).
  • Solid understanding of leasing and lending accounting.
  • Experience working with regulators and tax authorities.

  • Ability to manage deadlines and lead multiple priorities.
  • Proactive, solution-focused and comfortable in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced in English.
