What you'll do...

The Senior Director, Data Science role represents a strategic elevation aligned with Walmart Intl’s  growing investment in AI-driven transformation across Supply Chain, Last Mile, Merchandising, Pricing  and Store Operations – e.g. agentic merchandising ecosystem , 1p+3P pricing strategies , quick commerce, promise accuracy and more . With these domains gaining momentum and expanding in complexity, this position is being up-leveled from Director to Senior Director to provide the  leadership scope, depth, global span, and strategic oversight required to scale data science capabilities enterprise-wide. This leader will drive Walmart International’s  data science and platform strategy, delivering agentic AI and advanced analytics solutions that enhance decision intelligence, efficiency, and customer experience across international markets. The role will work in close partnership with Senior Directors of Applied AI in the U.S., ensuring alignment in AI innovation, architecture, and execution across geographies. Given its cross-functional scope, the position demands  leading teams across geographies , strong stakeholder management across multiple international markets, fostering collaboration with senior business, product, and technology leaders. The expanded span and depth of this role directly support Walmart’s long-term talent and platform strategy, building a sustainable leadership pipeline while advancing the company’s vision of leveraging AI at scale to power the future of retail operations in Intl markets. Shape and Execute platform Data Science Strategy
Define and operationalize Walmart’s end-to-end data science strategy across Supply Chain, Last Mile, Pricing, Merchandising, and Store Operations, ensuring scalability and measurable business impact in partnership with US Applied AI teams. Focus on enabling reusable models, consistent governance, and platform interoperability across geographies while ensuring global alignment on architecture, frameworks, and experimentation pipelines—creating a unified AI ecosystem. Drive Agentic AI Innovation
Accelerate the development of agentic AI systems that autonomously learn, adapt, and optimize complex decisions in inventory management, pricing, forecasting, and operations. Strengthen Cross-Market Collaboration
Lead multi-stakeholder engagement across all international markets, fostering alignment between business, product, and technology teams to drive adoption and impact. Build and Mentor Global Data Science Teams
Scale high-performing, diverse teams across regions, ensuring strong leadership pipelines, cross-functional capability building, and alignment with Walmart’s long-term talent strategy. Embed Model Governance, Responsible & Explainable AI Practices
Ensure AI systems are designed and deployed with fairness, transparency, and governance, reinforcing Walmart’s leadership in ethical and responsible AI. Measure and Communicate Enterprise Impact
Translate data science outcomes into actionable business value—clearly articulating ROI, operational savings, and customer experience improvements to senior executives and global leadership. Champion Continuous Innovation and Platform Modernization

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $320,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 7
years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2: Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science,
Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3: 9 years' experience in an analytics or related
field.
3 years' supervisory experience.
