Position Summary:
The Product Owner will ensure that the objectives and operational needs of Legal Recovery and technological execution are aligned. This role will serve as a critical bridge between stakeholders and technical teams, translating operational needs, requirements, and strategic goals into clear and actionable plans to ensure efforts are focused on the most efficient outcomes. The product owner will be responsible for avoiding misaligned priorities, inefficiencies, rework, and delays - ensuring decisions are made with a clear understanding of the business needs, impact, and long-term strategy.
The Product Owner will work side-by-side with key business stakeholders, developers, analysts, architects, and testing resources to define high level business intent and features, drive solution decisions and ensure finished products meet the needs of all stakeholders. This role will provide strategic direction for a team through experience and business intelligence and help shape the strategy and content of IT delivery in an agile environment.
This is a hybrid role working in the Norfolk office 3 days per week.
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- 1-2+ years of prior experience working as either a Business Analyst, Product Owner, Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or as a Legal Recovery or Collections Specialist.
- The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience in legal recovery and/or collections (preferred).
- Prior IT solutions project delivery and familiarity with Agile, Scrum and related principles and best practices is also preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in collections or legal recovery or managing and delivering IT projects.
- Microsoft Office proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint; any SQL knowledge a huge plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills leveraged to interface with business stakeholders and technical delivery resources
- Demonstrated progression and growth through past career experiences on Business and IT-related projects
- Experience translating strategy and market research into a clear vision and roadmap for solutions delivery. Experience facilitating working sessions between different groups of stakeholders
- Relevant Industry and application domain knowledge in IT and Legal Recovery is preferred
Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Define and champion product vision and goals to organization & team
- Responsible for the key performance indicators for the product
- Solicit ideas, assess and prioritize product opportunities, both for new solutions and existing feature optimization
- Identify and define valuable, usable and feasible solutions
- Frequently meet with customers to understand their needs and interact with departmental leaders to obtain input
- Contribute a deep knowledge of the customer, data, business and industry
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders; leverage their insight to develop great products and identify cross-organizational synergies and dependencies
- Keep the business informed of product activities and progress to goals; develop and execute communication plans for partners across the organization
- Provide direction and guidance to delivery team for product requirements
- Review and access current customer feedback avenues for product opportunities
- Specific deliverables for a Product Owner include: Product Vision, Prioritized Epic, Feature and Story Backlog, Product/Team Roadmap
- Work for business area owners and stakeholders to identify business rules that must be implemented
