The Opportunity

This position works out of our São Paulo, Itapeva Site location in the Electrophysiology business. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

The South Cone territory presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities. This region, encompassing countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay, is characterized by its diverse market dynamics, complex regulatory environments, and varying economic conditions.

What You’ll Do

The Head of Sales, South Latam will lead and manage the sales team within the Brazil and South Cone regions, focusing on the Electrophysiology market. This role involves developing and implementing effective sales strategies, managing key client relationships, and driving revenue growth:

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve business objectives and sales targets. This includes market segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategies.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales professionals to ensure high performance and achievement of sales goals. Provide ongoing training and development to enhance team capabilities.

  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the Electrophysiology market. Act as the primary point of contact for major clients, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any issues that arise.

  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and areas for growth. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

  • Sales Forecasting: Prepare and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports. Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure targets are met.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and other departments to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives. Collaborate on product launches, promotional activities, and customer events.

  • Negotiation: Negotiate and close high-value sales agreements with major clients. Ensure favorable terms and conditions that align with company policies and objectives.

  • Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions.

  • Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities within the region. Expand the customer base and increase market share.

  • Training and Development: Provide continuous training and development for the sales team. Implement best practices and innovative sales techniques to improve performance.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of the sales team and implement corrective action plans as necessary. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Create and present detailed reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive analysis. Use data to drive strategic decisions and improve sales processes.

  • Customer Feedback: Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve products and services. Work with the product development team to address customer needs and enhance product offerings.

  • Event Participation: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows. Network with industry professionals and promote the company’s products and services.

Qualifications

  • a.   Education: Bachelor Degree at mininum,  Master's degree preferred

  • b.   Years of experience: Desired a minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the medical device or healthcare industry.

  • c.   Other qualifications/certifications: Proficiency in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to analyze market data and develop strategic plans.
