We are looking to strengthen our Platform Services team with a DevOps Engineer who is passionate about building secure, scalable and reliable systems.

In this role you will work primarily on security initiatives and compliance related work

Your way to impact 

  • You will be joining our mission to enable our product teams by providing reliable, observable and scalable platform. 

  • Continuously innovate and deliver awesome experiences for our internal customers – the development teams 

  • Prove your problem-solving skills in both day-to-day work as well as during lab days and hack weeks.  

  • Work with your peers in the Cloud Infrastructure chapter, collaborating on platform improvements and increasing learning opportunities for and creating opportunities for growth in a supportive environment. 
     

Your day-to-day 

In your day-to-day role, you will develop and maintain tools to support product teams build and deliver solutions quickly and reliably. Additionally, you will design, set up, and codify best practices and processes to manage infrastructure and resources. 

 

You will get the opportunity to: 

  • Drive architectural decisions and ensure that the system architecture satisfies the needs of all the stakeholders and key system quality attributes. 

  • Govern the infrastructure, resources and accounts in AWS 

  • Ensure that Compliance and Security standards are adhered to.  

  • Actively contribute and demonstrate healthy modern engineering practices. 

  • Drive projects and implementations within our team’s areas of responsibility.  

  • Participate in the on-call rotation for the team to ensure 24/7 availability of our services. 

What do you need to bring 

  • Advanced knowledge on Linux, networking, databases 

  • Experienced in AWS Cloud.  

  • Are versed in container orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS). 

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Cloud formation, AWS CDK 

  • A solid expertise in CI/CD systems. We primarily use GitHub Actions and  CircleCI. 

  • Programming background (preferably Python, Golang or Bash). 

  • Conforming to best practices in Cybersecurity eg: IAM, WAF, DDoS 

  • Are familiar with distributed systems 

 

 Expertise in one or more of the following is a plus:  

  • Experience with Java or Kotlin and related frameworks 

  • Worked with PCI-DSS compliant infrastructures. 

  • Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk
