Laboratory Education Coordinator

The Laboratory Education Coordinator will coordinate educational conferences and continuing education events, maintain records and evaluations, and collaborates with other team members to ensure quality educational programs. 

 

A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am—5:00pm. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Designs, develops, implements, modifies and evaluates the education programs for the Institute. 

  • Schedules and conducts continuing education events. 

  • Ensures that all training/educational programs comply with current statutory and regulatory requirements. 

  • Assists with functions of the Medical Technology school. Manages special projects at the direction of supervisor. 

  • Coordinates special events, seminars, meetings, didactic lectures and other activities as required. 

  • Secures hotel accommodations, travel, meal planning, certification forms, audio visual requirements and honorarium processing. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor's degree in a health care or science related field. 

  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and oversee a multitude of activities and functions. 

  • Working knowledge and experience with regulatory policies and procedures. 

  • Proficient at intermediate level with personal computers and software. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Lab background
     

  • Basic knowledge of phlebotomy
     

  • Health science
     

  • Project Manager experience
     

  • Strong computer skills
     

  • Good computer skills
     

  • Problem solving

  • Knowledge of educational accreditation policies and procedures. 

  • Knowledge of basic accounting and marketing principles. 

  • Three years of coordinating projects/conferences.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information 

  • In some locations, ability to move 5 to 15 pounds.
