Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Ensure accurate and timely manual prescription fulfillment under the supervision of a pharmacist in a fast-paced closed-door pharmacy setting.
  • Support and utilize the Central Fill dispensing system and dispensing automation to maintain continuous workflow to meet daily production goals while ensuring quality and safety.
  • Utilize information presented by the dispensing system to identify and locate medications on labeled shelves by verifying their identifiers including NDC, size, and strength prior to processing.
  • Assist in the replenishment of medications in the dispensing system’s automated cells by following proper process and procedures.
  • Prepare packages for final distribution back to local pharmacies or directly to patients.
  • Process incoming drug orders and accurately replenish inventory to the correct storage areas utilizing handheld scanners. Ensure proper stock rotation using a first-in, first-out process.
  • Asist with inventory management processes including cycle counts, updating on hands, and processing recalls and expired medications.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all systems and equipment utilized for Central Fill processing and fulfillment.
  • Document and updated accurate prescription information when needed including, but not limited to, expiration date and lot number.
  • Prepare Specialty Pharmacy medications for shipment to patients.
  • Preform cleaning and maintenance on automation cells/cassettes as instructed.
  • Provide operational support to the pharmacists on duty and ensures and maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Ability to maintain focus and acute attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks with absolute accuracy.
  • Reports, immediately, any suspected prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures related to central fill and pharmacy operations.
  • Perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as necessary or assigned.
  • Understand and Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisor responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Education and/or experience completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and valid driver's license for business travel purposes.
