Head of Risk Analytics

Profile Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quantification of the company’s risks using advanced modelling techniques.

  • Own and develop risk modelling capability at the company & local entity levels across multiple accounting bases, with strong stress & scenario testing across various measures including capital, liquidity and value.

  • Ensure risk models are used to provide insights into potential impacts on the company’s financial stability and capital requirements.

  • Provide thought leadership and insights that help to shape the strategic value and contribution of the risk modelling capabilities, providing innovative ideas while balancing regulatory requirements.

  • Define and manage risk modelling methodologies, calculations and models, in conjunction with finance and actuarial. Assess the adequacy of financial risk modelling outputs to inform business decisions.

  • Ensure stress testing models are built using robust actuarial and statistical methodologies and are fit for purpose.

  • Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of data used in risk models, ensuring data quality and integrity. Implement advanced analytics to improve the accuracy and reliability of risk models.

  • Stay updated on industry developments, peer benchmarking, emerging risks, and advancements in modelling techniques.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of risk models, and frequency of stress testing.

  • Communicate complex risk modelling concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  • Provide training and support to business units on the use and interpretation of risk models, and relevant risk limits.

  • Act as a senior Risk professional within the Risk function, contributing to policies, standards, risk appetite and limits frameworks, and thought leadership required for ongoing Risk optimization.

  • Communicate findings to applicable stakeholders and ensure action plans are defined to remediate issues.

  • Interact with senior levels of management to facilitate understanding of usage of risk models and inform critical business decisions.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Qualified to Degree level and/or equivalent Professional insurance qualification

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, or similar designation

  • Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience, including risk modelling experience gained in multinational life insurance industry

  • Commercial awareness and ability to understand broad business issues.

  • Deep understanding of actuarial principles, risk modelling techniques, financial theory, and regulatory requirements.

  • Evidence of leading high performing teams in a risk discipline.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Proven track record of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making in complex business environments.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships, across different functions and different geographical regions

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.

  • Demonstrates leadership, integrity, and professionalism in handling risk matters and building a culture of risk & control.

These estimates consider a wide range of factors in making base salary decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

In addition to salary, Resolution Life US offers a comprehensive benefits package, including our health & wellness program, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The range for the role may differ based on the location.

Base Salary: $205,000 - $250,000
