About this role:
This is an exciting career opportunity for a versatile computational research associate to join diverse research and product development programs in the genome editing, agriculture genomics, and crop breeding space at Inari. Successful candidates will collaborate with scientists and engineers from multidisciplinary teams and help lead the development and application of a range of bioinformatic methods/tools for interrogating various data sets. The role will be based at Inari’s office in Ghent, Belgium.
As a Computational Biology Research Associate you will…
· Collaborate with analysts and scientists to deliver high-quality, high-throughput data analyses to advance Inari’s product concepts and technologies.
· Build, maintain, and develop robust bioinformatics pipelines to support scientific initiatives, including the analysis of diverse omics data sets such as Amp-Seq, transcriptomics, proteomics, epigenomics, and structural variants.
· Analyze, track, and report on pipeline capacity, making improvement recommendations.
· Train staff on bioinformatics tools and pipelines as needed.
· Offer technical expertise to support genomic and genetic data acquisition
· Organize and communicate data to colleagues, management, and external collaborators.
You bring…
· BS or MS in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biology, Plant Breeding, Genetics, or other relevant scientific field · At least 3 years of experience in industry
· Solid expertise with multi-omic data analysis such as WGS, transcriptomics, ATAC-Seq
· · Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment across multiple and ability to meet defined timelines with high quality results
· Willingness to be bold and take risks in developing creative solutions
Bonus Qualifications… · Familiar with Nextflow, AWS, Docker, Git, Jupyter Notebooks
· Previous experience working with plant genomic data is a plus, but not required.
· Understanding of genome editing technology landscape
· Knowledge of plant genetics
