Job Summary:


The Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Growth Officer is the senior executive responsible for shaping and advancing the long-term strategic direction, growth agenda, and enterprise transformation of Wellstar Health System. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the EVP & Chief Strategy and Growth Officer serves as a core member of the executive leadership team and a principal architect of the system's strategy, portfolio evolution, and inorganic growth initiatives.
This role carries enterprise-wide accountability for strategy development, mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and market positioning across a complex, multi-hospital health system. The EVP & Chief Strategy and Growth Officer ensures that Wellstar's strategic vision is grounded in rigorous analytics, market insight, and disciplined capital allocation, while translating that vision into executable growth pathways that strengthen the system's scale, capabilities, and competitive differentiation.
Operating with a system-level perspective, the EVP & CSO balances near-term growth opportunities with long-term value creation. The EVP and Chief Strategy and Growth Officer leads strategic planning processes, evaluates market expansion and affiliation opportunities, and drives enterprise transformation initiatives that position Wellstar to perform at the level of the nation's most respected and high-performing nonprofit health systems. The role requires deep fluency in healthcare economics, provider strategy, and M&A execution, along with the ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity.
As a visible and influential enterprise leader, the EVP & Chief Strategy and Growth Officer partners closely with the President & CEO, and executive leadership team to inform strategic decision-making and steward Wellstar's long-term growth. The role regularly represents the system with external partners, advisors, and stakeholders, reinforcing Wellstar's reputation as a disciplined, forward-
looking, and value-driven health system.


Required Minimum Education:

  • Masters Business Administration/Management or Masters Health Administration or Masters Economics, or related field is required


Required Minimum Experience:


Minimum 15 years progressive leadership experience in healthcare strategy, corporate development, consulting, finance, or enterprise management, with at least 710 years in senior executive roles (e.g., CSO, EVP, SVP, President, Corporate Development or equivalent) within a multi-hospital or integrated health system, healthcare services organization, or advisory firm. Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide strategic planning, growth initiatives, and/or M&A activities across hospitals, ambulatory platforms, medical groups, and service lines Proven success operating at scale within organizations comparable in complexity to nationally recognized nonprofit, academic, or integrated healthcare delivery systems.
