Job Description​

Saint Luke’s Hospital is looking for a Phlebotomist, Lab Support Technician

  • PRN - 12 hour shifts, nights, hours are 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
  • 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends every third week, 2 holidays per year
  • perform phlebotomy on inpatients and ED patients

 

Responsibilities:   

 

  • Collects patient samples in accordance with laboratory’s policy, procedures, and regulatory standards 

  • Documents receipt of patient samples in the LIS/EMR; processes and prepares samples for testing.  

  • May perform and report basic laboratory testing, as needed. 

  • Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection 

  • Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections
