The Director of Sales Engineer, VS&A, holds a key position that requires a dynamic individual who is knowledgeable and passionate about people leadership, management, collaboration, scaling businesses and problem solving. The director will oversee the core VS&A sales engineering team aligned with the mid-market selling teams for both end users and channel partners. This team acts as generalists for the VS&A product portfolio as well as specialists for the Unity video product line.
Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, coach and develop first line leaders and individual contributors.
Collaborate with sales leadership to identify areas of need that the sales engineering teams can impact sales opportunities, sales enablement or other revenue generating accelerators.
Collaborate with various internal departments including product teams, specialist teams, engineering, marketing, customer support, sales enablement and others to ensure feedback loops and common goals are in alignment.
Lead the efforts in conjunction with the events team in supporting the execution of tier 1 and tier 2 events/roadshows/tradeshows from a technical enablement standpoint.
Identify areas where sales engineering teams can impact the sales opportunity to increase the sales conversion win rate. Create, implement and track progress.
Ensure sales engineering teams are continually enabled in both technical knowledge and best in class sales acumen with respects to the sales engineering role. Focus on upskilling the team to gain strength and expertise in Motorola’s ecosystem go to market strategy
Work with customer support leadership to ensure field escalations are redirected to proper channels and workflows minimizing sales engineering time spent on post sales activities.
Monitor, track and report on sales pipeline opportunities related to SE activities, including PoCs, demos, customer meetings, implementation assist, etc. Ensure SE activity is in alignment and optimized to drive pipeline to forecast commit
Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
4+ years experience in sales engineering, presales or technical sales leadership positions. Strong preference for those with experience leading, mentoring, coaching and developing first line leaders
Experience in growing and scaling pre-sales engineering teams in a multi-product and multi-branded organization
Experience in delivering performance reviews and performance management directly to both individual contributors and leaders
Experience working in a channel partner and distributor sales GTM strategy.
Self-motivated and focused individual with a strong desire for customer satisfaction and problem solving. Leads with a proactive mindset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the dominant language of the region. Along with excellent presentation skills including experience presenting to senior leadership levels
High Emotional intelligence
Prior experience in a technical role preferable in the physical security industry or other IT related technology industries
Strong understanding of the video surveillance and access control markets preferred
Experience with salesforce CRM reporting.
Bachelor's Degree is highly desired
Travel Requirements:
50% travel by land and/or air within North America. Occasional international travel may be required.
