As the Reward Governance Lead, you will work closely with the Head of Total Rewards to deliver reward regulatory and governance-related projects, including the implementation of the remuneration workstream for the Financial Accountability Regime and ongoing compliance and reporting requirements.

Core responsibilities

  • Plan and support the delivery of reward regulatory and governance-related projects, including the implementation of the remuneration workstream for the Financial Accountability Regime and ongoing compliance with CPS511 requirements.

  • Provide robust support to Vanguard Super’s Remuneration Committee, Board, and Vanguard Investments Australia Board through writing papers, timely and accurate reporting, disclosures, and development and management of the Remuneration Committee work plan to ensure all regulatory requirements are met and managed within the required timeframes.

  • Take ownership of the Vanguard Australia HR team complying with its obligations to provide agreed services to the Vanguard Super entity, including the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee and relevant Audit & Risk Committee reporting

  • Lead the delivery of internal and external regulatory reporting, such as the annual WGEA submission, annual remuneration disclosures and Board reporting, undertaking analysis and providing insights senior leaders to support decision-making.

  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of industry compensation and benefit practices. Advise and consult with key stakeholders on regulatory changes or industry forces that affect the compliance or competitiveness of compensation and benefits programs offered by Vanguard.

  • Support the delivery of BAU and cyclical compensation processes, such as benchmarking and the annual bonus and merit adjustment process.

  • Act as a subject matter expert to guide and support crew and leaders to improve their total rewards acumen. Provide total reward expertise to align the pay and reward programs, policies and procedures with organisational priorities.

  • Own the HR Policy program of work, ensuring we meet best practice and comply with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.

Qualifications & specialisations that will make an impact

  • Subject matter expertise in remuneration and benefits including broad knowledge of market trends, regulatory changes and best practices.

  • Experience in managing reward projects, with the ability to build consensus and manage expectations across a range of stakeholders, coordinate multiple work streams or tasks, and prioritise work.

  • Strong understanding of the remuneration regulatory requirements within financial services organisations, specifically the Financial Accountability Regime and CPS511

  • Advanced data analytical capability, with the ability to identify trends and present insights to a range of audiences

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics and prepare reports/presentations that are tailored to various audiences

  • Understanding of the operation of a Board/Remuneration Committee with experience drafting Board papers

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work within a global, matrixed organisation

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience

  • This position is hybrid and would require you to work in the office location Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
