What You’ll Get to Do:


You will lead a group of ~3-10 engineers, designers, subject matter experts, and analysts who primarily provide our NAVSEA and FMS Technical and Program Office clients with superb technical support in developing the next Navy ships. You will perform as a key engineering lead directly supporting our key clients and be a recognized technical leader.  You will provide superb communication across our Naval Engineering Team Managers to supplement your engineering tasking on programs as broad as the Navy’s fleet – supporting aircraft carriers, combatants, amphibious and auxiliary ships from program initiation through concept, design, integration, construction, life cycle, and fleet support. You and your team will perform traditional Navy HM&E Engineering Management but also fill critical Navy Specialized and Mission roles (e.g., Combat systems and SMEs for AEGIS, VLS, C5I, Cyber Applications, etc.…). Your will require management of accurate engineering resources, staffing plans, and alignment with existing program needs for stable revenue, but also for future growth forecasts. You will be recognized by Programs, Program Managers, and Project Managers as a key performer and will coordinate hiring engineering talent, training, and mentoring staff across the engineering directorate for resources at both entry level and senior roles.  You will identify and procure modern ship design, engineering, and analysis tools for the workforce and ensure we have resources to champion those tools. As a technical Naval Engineering group lead, you will set ensure engineering and Quality Assurance standards are met for the engineering team(s).


More About the Role:

  • Ensures that NAVSEA/NSWC/MSC Clients, Technical Warrant Holders and Ship Design Managers receive accurate technical advice in a timely fashion
  • Meets with key NAVSEA, NSWC, MSC, and PEO customers to determine future engineering and technical needs in the marketplace
  • Provides the workforce with the correct suite of engineering and analytical tools to perform engineering (design and analysis)
  • Develops and oversees a quality assurance plan and controls release authority for CACI design products and analyses
  • Develop and oversee critical deliverables, QA, risk, and oversee labor hours and budget constraints.
  • Fosters a strong mentorship culture so that young employees receive training and oversight as they mature into fully capable engineers
  • Develops Subject Matter Experts who take ownership of key disciplines in naval and Marine engineering
  • Deploys the Hull, Mechanical & Engineering, Specialized and Mission talent across the NAVSEA and MSC market space, accounting for program priorities, phases, and funding constraints
  • Supports strategic opportunities for growth in the Naval Engineering market space
  • Manage all team members timekeeping and quarterly/annual reviews to ensure proper usage of individual and team talents
  • Ability to Staff, train, mentorship, budget, and Forecast team as shared engineering resources, full time resources, and surge positions.
  • Ability to support specific areas in proposals and targeted growth areas, with willingness to learn larger Proposal support efforts.
  • Self-Starter, Multi-task capability, technically savvy, interpersonal skills, team player and ability to market our CACI team capabilities.
  • Client interface with acquisition and multiple technical program PMs, PAPMs, SDMs, TWHs, SEMs, DIMs are required to provide technical solutions and recommendations and ensure complete customer satisfaction
  • Ability to enter and gain a foothold in new markets such as Amphibs, Combatants, Carriers, FMS Programs, USCG Programs, Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMSs) and/or Unmanned Maritime Vehicles (UMVs) other markets in 05Z/05P/05S, etc.
  • Explicit Knowledge of NAVY SPECs and standards (e.g., GSO/NCDS/NSTM,TPUBs, Mil-Std) is a must.


 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree
  • US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance
  • Ten years of experience in US Naval Ship Engineering Capacity, either within the NAVSEA/PEO Governmental/Active-Duty Navy Organizations, Shipyard Construction and Repair, Ship Operations (as a USCG Certified Officer or US Naval Officer), NAVSEA contractor support, or Similar.
  • Ten years of experience performing as a key leader of an engineering team or in support of projects comprised of least 10 FTEs and across multiple Navy HM&E and Mission Specific disciplines.
  • Experience briefing complex technical issues (including performance, cost, schedule and risk implications) to decision makers
  • Strong analytical skills



These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Fifteen years of experience performing as a key lead of a NAVSEA or MSC engineering team projects comprised of least 10 FTEs and Across HM&E disciplines
  • Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree
  • Professional Engineering License, Lead engineer for Former NAVSEA Ship Design Manager, USCG Deck or Engineering License

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$68,400-$143,700
