PIMCO is seeking to recruit a business development analyst for the Latin America & the Caribbean team, focused and based in Brazil.

The Business Development Analyst serves a unique and dynamic role that is based around the core responsibility of supporting PIMCO Latin America expansion efforts in the region by supplying timely information on PIMCO’s investment products and capabilities to the group. This employee will work closely with the Account Management team to achieve the growth goals of the group. Responsibilities include gathering, analyzing, and discussing with the group industry information within each channel of opportunity (corporations, pension funds, family offices, etc.), actively participating in business development initiatives including data analysis and requests for proposals processes, support design and updates to business plans, prospecting, competitor research elaboration using internal and external database applications, enhancement of PIMCO’s brand and reputation as the industry’s “go-to” firm, special projects, etc. The successful candidate will operate as an entrepreneur and be proactive about seeking improved ways to equip the Business Development Professionals in their relationship building, cross-selling responsibilities and marketing process.
 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
PIMCO Investment Professionals including members of the Account Management Group, Product Managers and Associates, and Portfolio Managers and Trade Assistants as well as prospective clients.
 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Development and Sales:

    • Identify new business development opportunities, including targeting potential investors, asset pools, and channels.

    • Drive marketing and sales campaigns to engage with these opportunities.

    • Conduct final presentations and close business deals, effectively converting prospects into clients.

  • Client Engagement and Expertise:

    • Serve as a product expert during various client interactions, including meetings with current and prospective clients, consultant meetings, and industry conferences.

    • Provide insightful and current information regarding the firm’s and product's investment philosophy, process, strategy, performance, and other relevant details to clients, prospective clients, and consultants.

    • Act as the primary product-specific contact for clients, prospective clients, and consultants, ensuring their needs and inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately.

  • Material Development and Maintenance:

    • Develop and maintain a diverse range of materials to support new business development, sustain existing business, and assist with specific product management initiatives and responsibilities.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Language Proficiency:

    • Mandatory: Native Portuguese speaker with fluency in English.

    • Desirable: Spanish language skills are a plus.

    • Preference: Preference for candidates native/naturalized of Brazil

  • Professional Skills and Knowledge:

    • Service-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency in responding to both internal and external requests.

    • Solutions-driven with the ability to build and drive business, particularly with a focus on Fixed Income products and a multi-asset approach.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong understanding of software applications, including index-provider databases, query tools, and Bloomberg.

    • Well-organized, high-energy self-starter capable of working within the firm’s demanding and highly focused environment. Entrepreneurial skills are crucial for success.

    • Outstanding relationship-building skills with the ability to clearly articulate analysis both in writing and verbally.

    • In-depth knowledge of fixed income securities and portfolio management techniques.

    • Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel, both as part of a team and individually.

    • Proven ability to manage a prospect base and explore opportunities for new asset growth.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

ACCOUNT ANALYST

Ideal candidates should have 0-2 years of experience in the financial services industry and a strong interest in fixed income and economics. College internships in finance, client-oriented roles are preferred.

ACCOUNT ASSOCIATE

Ideal candidates should have 2-4 years of experience in financial services, asset management, investment banking or accounting.
