The Program Manager role is critical in delivering success for our athletes and teammates and will help to enable and deliver next generation retail technology! In this role, you will manage the content delivery lifecycle from start to finish, working with development and operations teams to ensure fast, effective releases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our Dick’s Media Network (DMN) content releases go smoothly. You will be responsible for managing the release processes, coordinating the testing efforts, and identifying performance trends and risks within our releases. Additionally, you will develop automated UI tests for new features.
The focus is on leading program planning and manages the integration, implementation, reporting, and performance of the overall program to successful delivery of the program value and outcomes. The Senior Program Manager leads the coordination and management activities with business partners; Acts as a mentor and coach to program managers, as needed.
Store Project Planning and Management
Be the feedback loop between Stores and DMN Program on opportunities to strengthen Store Ad operations:
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables for DMN in store launches.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and requirements.
Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful project delivery.
Lead the production of and approve program plans, ensuring that all activities are identified, are appropriately organized to deliver program objectives, comply with the organization's program management framework, and comply with the organization's wider governance structure and processes.
Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
Dick’s Media Network (DMN) Store Stakeholder Coordination
Be the feedback loop between Stores and DMN Program on opportunities to strengthen Store Ad operations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all store launch-related activities.
Communicates to DMN Program Manager: project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, providing regular updates and seeking necessary approvals.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings as needed to ensure effective collaboration between teams, including marketing, IT, sales, and operations.
Implementation and Execution: Coordinate SOPs to manage Store Ad Up Time
Oversee the deployment of retail media solutions in new and existing stores, ensuring all technical and operational requirements are met.
Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with third-party providers to ensure seamless integration of retail media technologies.
Conduct site audits to verify proper installation and functionality of media assets.
Conduct store feedback sessions to identify opportunities and what’s not working
Understand Store Ad Up Time Metrics
Quality Assurance and Testing
Manage and coordinate the QA process with key stores prior to full scale roll-out:
Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure retail media solutions meet quality standards.
Identify and resolve where enabled technical issues or discrepancies during the launch process.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Establish and monitor launch metrics
Dwell time, Customer Feedback, Ad Recall, Product Awareness, In-Store Engagement Metrics, Location Based metrics.
Manage identification of risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with the program, escalating these where appropriate. Where necessary, develop, agree on, and implement solutions to overcome these.
Project Performance Tracking
Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Generate and analyze reports on project metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Feed status to DMN Program Manager
Conduct post-launch evaluations to assess project success and identify areas for enhancement.
Ongoing Learning and Development
Develop own and more junior team member capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
Continuous Improvement
Review existing operations in own area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure continuous improvements are delivered.
Drive a culture of innovation by creating multi-stakeholder solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration across business units, such as idea generation platforms, jam sessions, and hackathons.
Talent Development
Identify organizational needs and recruit for open positions
Build the Agile practices and continuously evolve team process standards to drive quality and efficiencies
Set clear performance standards for teammates
Coach and ensure all teammates are getting the training and education needed to develop professionally
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree
Degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology
Agile / Scrum certification (preferred, not required)
OCM or CCMP Certification or knowledge (preferred, not required)
PMP certification or knowledge (preferred, not required)
7-10 years of relevant work experience, with 3-5 years’ experience in a retail and eCommerce environment.
Experience translating ideas, approaches, and dependencies between technical and functional team members
7-10 years of experience with agile development and deployment practices, agile-based tools and practices
Experience communicating program status, risks, issues, and needs to senior leaders, and managing up
Experience and knowledge of organizational change management principles, methodologies and tools
Proficient in managing and growing team members in a professional setting
Experience managing alignment across programs, projects or product teams in an enterprise environment
Strong communication and presentation skills
Experience managing strategic vendor relationships or acting as the primary point of contact for strategic partnerships
Proficient in effective troubleshooting and issue resolution techniques
Proficient in the planning and execution of programs and projects and risk mitigation strategies
Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
Proficient in project management execution in a modern software environment via multiple methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)
Strong Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
Desired Skills:
Good Knowledge of Retail E-Commerce Domain
PMP Certification
Exposure to a CI/CD toolchain
Understanding of modern microservice-based architectures and methodologies
OCM or Change Management Professional Certification
Experience with Agile Development and knowledge on Agile Deployment practices
