Job Summary:

Coordinate with our regional & global commercial teams to support them with container freight services & products to meet our customer’s needs. Liaise with international shipping lines to procure container freight rates & space for the specific required trade lane. Analyse ocean freight market trends. Prepare market reports. Joint customer product presentations with commercial teams to help grow our business. 

Key functions:

• Help guide, build & exceed our regional trade commercial plans
• Buy competitive ocean freight from shipping lines for specific trade lanes
• Managing and building relationships with key contacts within the shipping lines
• Manage our annual contractual ocean freight commitments with the shipping lines
• Key entry point between our company and the shipping lines to deal with service issues

Key KPI:

• Manage carrier relationships
• Ensure we procure competitive ocean freight rates
• Secure sufficient weekly/monthly space on required lanes
• Carrier contract commitments
• Vol and AGP targets

Key Relationships:

• Shipping line
• Regional & global commercial teams
• Regional operations in the branch
• Key customers

Qualification

• University graduate
• 3-5 years of relevant shipping experience in Trade role or Procurement function in an international NVO.
• Language proficiency – English, Chinese
• Good written and verbal skills
• Proficient using MS office applications
