Your role

The Junior Manager in Business Development plays a pivotal role in steering the organization towards growth by supporting the Head of Business Development NA&EU as well as Senior Business Development Managers, identifying opportunities, fostering relationships, and ensuring that the business strategies are effectively executed. The position not only contributes to immediate revenue but also lays the groundwork for sustainable long-term success

  • Support the Head of Business Development NA&EU as well as Senior Business Development Managers
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities in a new field of business.
  • Conduct market research to understand trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Assess leads for their commercial and strategic potential.
  • Develop and implement strategic partnerships with smaller industry players.
  • Collaborate with product management and technology teams at ZEISS to align business strategies with product offerings.
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations to board-level stakeholders and potential clients.
  • Create network with key internal partners to gain efficiency and strong commitment to deliver

Your profile

  • Degree in business management, engineering, or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years in business development, key account management, product management or project management in a complex and international environment.
  • Strong experience with strategic marketing projects, market research, financial analysis and P&L management. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for account management, stakeholder coordination, project management, and networking
  • Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, demanding environments.
  • Work in an international environment with demanding customers.
  • Business fluent in English and German.
  • Flexibility for international travel and cross-regional collaboration.
