The Future Technologies & Experience Team, within Personal Systems (PS), was created with an extreme focus on designing and delivering seamless, meaningful, and future-forward experiences for our customers.  We are seeking an Experience Product Manager to help define, curate, and deliver exceptional experiences on hero products, services, and solutions.  You will engage in user research to elicit the voice of the customer firsthand to understand foundational motivations and key scenarios/insights, derive product experience requirements, and define and execute test plans to validate those experiences. Core Responsibilities

User Research & Experience Mapping/Definition

  • Discover the voice of the customer, and keep it heard throughout the concept generation and proof-of-concept process.
  • Help cross-functional teams identify pressing knowledge gaps/research questions.
  • Recommend appropriate research methods and create new ones to fill learning objectives of teams.
  • Plan, design, and execute user research studies, employing a range of qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Create user personas, user journey maps, and other artifacts to communicate user insights to the wider team.
  • Identify meaningful insights and translate them into actionable opportunities that can be used to empower product development teams.
  • Initiate and guide teams through ideation sessions to converge on experience concepts for prototyping.
  • Work with a diverse core team to iteratively refine experience concepts through prototyping and user testing.
  • Work with teams to translate experience research and definition into measurable outcomes to be communicated.

Design Thinking Leadership and Facilitation

  • Execute Design Thinking methodology in partnership Product Managers to define hero experiences of innovative products.
  • Interact with a complex set of stakeholders throughout the business, and dynamically lead the team to define and deliver solutions.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, make trade-offs to balance business needs and user needs with technical or operational constraints.
  • Work with product team leads to develop the team’s strategy and long-term goals.

Agent of change

  • Act as a role model, driving greater customer-centricity in decision-making within product/solution teams.
  • Serve as facilitator, teacher, leader, and planner to influence a mindset shift toward design thinking.
  • Deliver influential presentations supported by evidence-based user inputs to drive strategic decisions and empower teams.
  • Connect and cross-pollinate people and initiatives across HP Personal Systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven record implementing user-centered design methodologies
  • Passionate advocate of user research with a keen sense for identifying what is truly meaningful to customers.
  • Driven to understand the ‘why’s behind the ‘what’s
  • Nimble in selecting and executing a range of user research methodologies that span generative and evaluative user research.
  • Demonstrable experience navigating discovery research focused on identifying human-centred need and communicating research results in an actionable way.
  • Proven record of using evaluative research to check understanding and proposed solution.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity. Highly disciplined systems thinker, who combines creative and analytical skills to deliver potent innovation strategies.
  • Master storyteller that can engage stakeholders through powerful narratives to get them onboard and keep them engaged through the process.
  • Possess a more experimental mindset, rather than methodological approach to challenges.
  • Experience managing end-to-end design processes from opportunity identification, ideation, prototyping, testing and proof-of-concept
  • Critical and evidence-based thinker and natural problem-solver
  • 3 years applying design thinking processes across multiple industries
  • Experience and business cases to prove the value of experimental approaches to move forward despite the unknowns with new product development
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a constrained environment
  • Proven record working with cross functional and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English mandatory, multilingual a plus!)
  • PC Gaming experience a plus

The base pay range for this role is $79,150 to $121,900 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
