We are seeking a motivated Commerce Platform Intern to join our e-commerce technology team. This role offers hands-on experience in building scalable front-end and backend systems, as well as cloud-native applications. You will work with modern technologies such as React.js, Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, TypeScript, Vercel, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), contributing to real-world projects that impact our customers. 

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, and GraphQL. 

  • Build and optimize front-end applications using React.js and deploy them on Vercel for high-performance delivery. 

  • Assist in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices. 

  • Support data synchronization and integration with third-party systems. 

  • Collaborate with engineers to deploy and optimize applications on Google Cloud Platform. 

  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality deliverables. 

 

Internship Qualifications 

  • Major in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred. 

  • Preferred with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React.js, REST APIs, and databases (SQL/NoSQL). 

  • Willingness to relocate to Fort Myers, Florida for the duration of the program (10 weeks). 

  • Real-world experience in front-end and backend development for e-commerce. 

  • Exposure to cloud computing, serverless deployments, and modern development practices. 

  • Mentorship from experienced engineers and opportunities to contribute to live projects. 

 

Program Details 

The KnitWell Group Summer Internship Program welcomes the classes of 2026 and 2027 college students to work with several of our brands (Ann Taylor, Haven Well Within, LOFT, Talbots) and Corporate Shared Services to kick-start their career in retail. This immersive experience offers interns the opportunity to work hands-on with their department for 10-weeks and receive professional development opportunities including executive chats, professional workshops, store visits, etc., and participation in a collaborative team project.   

The pay rate for the position is $20.00/hr.  

This internship position will be based out of our Chico’s Headquarters office location in Fort Myers, FL.   

KnitWell Group does not offer housing near any of our corporate office locations. Participating students must have the ability to independently secure and finance housing in a commutable distance of the office location.
